Lockhart River is a little community in the eastern Cape York Peninsula. We have about 850 people living here. We have several tribal groups here; Wututi, Kukuyawu, Kantananku, Kanjuu, Yotowganu and Umpila. We live right on the coast next to the ocean. We have a beautiful rainforest that has Kuttini (Cassowary) in it, we have a massive mountain called Kuttini (Cassowary), we have a lovely big blue ocean and nice sea breeze. It's nice and cool here because the soft breeze comes from the ocean. We love going fishing the most, hunting, we love our culture, we love our dancing it gets carried from generation to generation. The old girls do the weaving with grass, we have many artists and painters and some of them are famous. We feel proud of our home, our country, our culture so come and have a look at our stories.
