About me
Namaste! I am Pooja Bharti from GGIC, Tikri.
My father is a mason and I belong to a financially backward family. I like to play traditional games with my village mates. Apart from my village, I have only visited Mirjapur, where my maternal uncle lives. I enjoyed my time there, the farmers there are very hardworking. I have observed a phenomenon of the farms being turned into residential houses in my village.
Due to this practice the farming of the village ruins and the production of crops are affected, hence food prices rise. Also, the Government is acquiring agricultural land to make eight lane roads, which is incorrect. The Government pays money for the land but it is half of the actual value. When the Government takes the land, the houses go with it as well. The money is spent to clear old dues and make new houses, that too without farms. The poor farmers loose their land and their jobs. We are making the farmers jobless. I want to study hard and become an IAS (Indian Administrative Services) Officer so that I can stop conversion of fertile fields into residential houses.
